I was taking photos of a Catholic Church pageant. As I was leaving I saw this door with its wonderful, yet threatening brass locks. The thickness of the door with years of varnish gave the feeling of security and conversely a certain loneliness. What particularly caught my eye was the light from an adjacent window that filtered on to the door.

A gull waiting for brunch
This seagull arrives at a friend’s apartment every morning, taps on the windows and waits to be served the leftovers from dinner.

So I did. And then I took my picture
