New York

forgotten shore

Rocky shoreline

This craggy, forelorn, shoreline caught my eye. The splintered pilings abandoned a rememberance of a time long past.

Sanctuary Door

I was taking photos of a Catholic Church pageant. As I was leaving I saw this door with its wonderful, yet threatening  brass locks. The thickness of the door with years of varnish gave the feeling of security and conversely a certain loneliness. What particularly caught my eye was the light from an adjacent window that filtered  on to the door.

the long way home

A long way home

While driving on this country road I couldn’t help but notice the sun shining through the trees, the shadows on the road and the perspective. I pulled over into a driveway to a farm and took this picture. I wanted to capture the essence of the moment on this country road.

breakfeast for the gull

A gull waiting for brunch

This seagull arrives at a friend’s apartment every morning, taps on the windows and waits to be  served the leftovers from dinner.

Waiting for the you

I wanted to capture the silhouette of the sailboat sitting on calm water with the background of the trees.
I also positioned myself to shoot the sea grass that dotted the seashore as well.

Come Sit With Me

The Old Bench

While walking my dog this late fall day I observed this park bench.
The bricks were still damp from the early morning rain
and it seemed to beckon me to sit down and share a moment with it.
So I did. And then I took my picture
